and for best Po-Boys, don't wait in line all day at Mother's, go to NOLA Grocery. Best Po-Boys in town, don't get me wrong, Mother's has some decent food, but this little Grocery has all of them beat. Get the roast beef or Ferdi Special. Southern Candymakers (on Decatur) for the best Pecan Pralines. Cafe DuMonde for breakfast, or Lil' Dizzy's. For lunch Coop's can be great but they're not always consistent.

Commanders's Palace is one of those must do ultimate dining experiences. I still have the menu from several years ago when I went. Our waiter gave us a tour of the whole place and even took us into the kitchen. Many restaurants over the years have tried to duplicate this New Orleans landmark. There are a lot of great places in New Orleans, but this place is indeed an icon.
